CHARLIE HAS BEEN ADOPTED
Charlie was born in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. He was found as a stray and clearly knew hunger because he is all skin and bones.
Charlie is approximately 4 months old and is just about the sweetest little puppy you'll ever meet. We don't know for sure, but he'll probably grow to be about 55 lbs. He is gentle, quiet and amazingly well-behaved. He's still a little unsure of the world, and will quickly bond with his people and look to them for guidance and a sense of security.
Charlie loves his crate--he goes in there every chance he gets, so we recommend that his new family invest in a crate for him as that will provide a den-like area which will keep him feeling safe and secure. He sleeps in his crate at night and is crated when he is alone.
Although Charlie is a great little puppy, please realize that he IS still only a puppy. Please be sure you can devote the time and energy to training and socializing him. Are you prepared for accidents in the house while you housetrain him? Are you willing to dog-proof your house and train him out of possible destructible chewing? You'll have to do all this a lot more if you welcome a puppy into your home.
Charlie is a wonderful puppy who, with continued socialization, some basic training, and somebody to nurture and love him, will grow into a wonderful dog.
